This is a military WW2 Era men's wristwatch. This is a an authentic vintage Wittnauer Weems watch. This was given as an award to a US Navy Pilot. The pilot, David Milton Birdsall, was the 1955 recipient of the Captain Albert E. Oliver Award. I was able to find some information on then Ensign Birdsall but there is probably a wealth of history yet to be discovered.
